It's been a few years since I so rudely abandoned Xanga and chose to privatize my thoughts instead. How silly of me. Xanga became the kind of thing where I would be in the middle of an adventure and I would be thinking, " this will make a great xanga update!!"... I was in need of a quick break.
So why blogspot? Why not, I suppose. I've had my page for a few months now but never write. I spend lots of time at work reading my friend's blogs and get annoyed when it had been weeks since their last update. As much as I'd like to pretend I will keep up with my friends without an internet liaison, blogging, facebook, email, etc. can all be incredibly useful in connection.
I am in the midst of my last 2 weeks at PhyCon. PhyCon is a physician's billing company, and I've worked for the Client Relation's Department all summer. As dull as this may sound, I've been pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable it can sometimes be. Plus, my office has a boarder with purple mountains and yellow flowers. Very chic, very 1992.
When PhyCon is over, I move to Denver to start a job working for a non profit. I'll be a grassroots field coordinator, and I'm not quite sure exactly what all I will be doing. I know I'll be in charge of holding press conferences and arranging meetings with state and national elected officials. I'll then build up a volunteer base of people who support the issue at hand, whether it be environmental or human rights, etc. and have them show up to these meetings with questions/concerns, etc.
I feel I am getting into a job that will be a bit over my head, but I am ready for that! I guess I am abandoning graphic design like I abandoned xanga. I must have abandonment issues. I had this obsession with cows in fourth grade because everyone would ask me what my favorite animal and so I made up that cows where my favorite. I had a cow themed room, my mom made me cow vests, and not surprisingly, I was a cow for Halloween. I even made up this song called "Bessie the heifer cow" which I would sing every single Friday anytime someone said the word Friday. Sixth grade rolls around and goodbye cow obsession, hello ryan, nick, adam, joey, matt, preston, gregory, andrew, luke, jessie obsession. My diary went from being filled with cow sightings to boy sightings.
I don't know where I'm going with this. I guess the point of the entry is welcome blogspot. And you all are in danger of me abandoning our friendship, beware.
